Maisha Yetu is a Swahili word meaning “our lives”, and is inspired by African handicraft work.
They import handmade craft products which are artistic and created by the marginalised producers and designers in urban and rural informal settlement areas who make unique, authentic, genuine, vibrant, high quality goods including: clothes, textiles, baskets, mats, place-mats, soapstone carved articles, jewellery, belts, picture frames, seasonal greeting cards, bead-work and assorted accessories.
They promote and support producers and do this in an ethical way, with integrity and respect, whilst always smiling. It is important to them that the African suppliers get their fair share of the revenue.
They have an outlet for their products at Pod 4, 40-42 Canal Walk, Brunel (Swindon Emporium Centre).
Their moto is ”Hands Creating Wealth Trough Trade And with a Smile”
